Tell the sailors
the distant sea
is cold at night
And the island is
only for those
eyes of love and light.

Upward bring your hearts
and of Eden never lose sight
Lest the roads of Earth
take you where the sun
is not bright.

Lost is innocence,
cold is the world,
mixed is wrong with right
Crossed are the frontiers,
with or without flight

But wait,
this is not the place
to remember the past
with delight
Nor is it of wisdom
to forget
and serve the needs
of a night
short of light.
